Real women don’t need a man to “look after” them. Real men don’t throw their lives away doing just that.People in those circumstances may need someone to look after them, but that person's gender doesn't matter, and it doesn't mean anyone is obligated to be that person. | /r/MensRights | 15/10/23 11:02 PM
| -2 | Thoughts on this?I'm a feminist, and I agree that the author of the article is a hypocrite. She doesn't represent feminism (no one does), so she doesn't make every feminist a hypocrite. Every movement has stupid or disingenuous people making bad arguments. | /r/MensRights | 15/10/23 10:56 PM |
The things I've learned from 3 years of online dating from my own lived experience. What things have you learned?I know I have moved the goalpost a bit from "basically expects you to read their mind", but I think it's both poor communication and something different from communication. It's poor communication because it's less effective at conveying information than just saying what you want, even if doing so is annoying. I understand that people have different communication preferences and that those differences can make people incompatible for a relationship, but I don't think giving hints on the first da… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 18/08/23 04:40 PM
The things I've learned from 3 years of online dating from my own lived experience. What things have you learned?Using hints and non-verbal cues like that isn't just a communications style if there is the expectation that the other person should do something substantive in response. What would happen if OP just responded back with hints and non-verbal cues rather than escalate? Based on how OP describes it, I don't think he thinks that would work. It doesn't sound like it's about how they want to communicate, it sounds like it about how they want OP to act. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 18/08/23 05:36 AM
A lot of women goad 'nice guys' on and then act surprised when they take it the wrong wayExamples of the kind of selfies I send are me with a cute cat I met, me with a beaten up face after Muay Thai training, or me looking really tiered after staying up for 24+ hours. I don't send selfies that are supposed to look sexy or attractive? Would you say that's still goading him on? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 18/08/23 03:16 AM
The things I've learned from 3 years of online dating from my own lived experience. What things have you learned?I don't think many people are interested in competing for power in their relationships, and I can't understand why anyone would want to date them or how they could possibly have healthy relationships with that attitude. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 17/08/23 05:01 PM
The things I've learned from 3 years of online dating from my own lived experience. What things have you learned? That comment is talking about something completely different. It sounds like she is happiest when dating someone with the same communication style as her, while the people OP talks about couldn't date someone who behaved like them because they would both just wait for the other to escalate, and then break up with either other. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 17/08/23 04:37 PM
The things I've learned from 3 years of online dating from my own lived experience. What things have you learned?Maybe it's a generational thing (I'm 22) or a location thing. I asked a guy friend, and he says that it's not something he has experienced or heard about. I think it would be really frustrating to be in a relationship with someone who refuses to communicate and basically expects you to read their mind. Why would you even be interested in someone like that? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/08/23 10:57 PM
The things I've learned from 3 years of online dating from my own lived experience. What things have you learned?I don't think it's that common. I have never even heard about it before. It's one thing to use hints as a substitute for communication before they agreed to go on a date (although that's stupid too), but to continue like that on the date as well is just bizarre. If I was a straight man in a world where most women behaved like that, I don't think I would bother to date. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/08/23 09:57 PM

| -1 | The things I've learned from 3 years of online dating from my own lived experience. What things have you learned?I can't imagine going on a date with someone I like and want to kiss, but instead of kissing him, trying to hint at wanting him to kiss me without actually saying it and then rejecting him when nothing happens. It just sounds incredibly dumb. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/08/23 07:44 PM |

The things I've learned from 3 years of online dating from my own lived experience. What things have you learned?Yes, but I don't think I would feel differently about it if I was a man. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/08/23 07:20 PM
The things I've learned from 3 years of online dating from my own lived experience. What things have you learned?I mean the 4th item in the list. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/08/23 07:17 PM
Do women get turned off if a guy tells them how he regretted some of the women he hooked up with?I don't care how much sexual experience he has, but I would be turned off by him doing things just because he thinks a man is expected to do them. It would be a dealbreaker if he still thought it was a good thing that he did that, but it's okay if he has since realized that it was dumb and regrets it. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/08/23 07:15 PM
The things I've learned from 3 years of online dating from my own lived experience. What things have you learned?I disagree with 4. I would never do that and if I thought someone was doing that with me instead of communicating like an adult, I would lose all interest. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/08/23 07:02 PM
A lot of women goad 'nice guys' on and then act surprised when they take it the wrong wayMost flirting is probably indistinguishable from just being friendly, so I can definitely understand where the confusion comes from. If I'm interested in someone, I will normally just ask them directly rather than by flirting with them. I don't know if there is anything that can only mean flirting, but things like touching, close physical proximity, and talking about having sex or a relationship with them hypothetically are pretty strong indicators. Basically, the more likely someone who isn't i… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/08/23 06:32 PM
A lot of women goad 'nice guys' on and then act surprised when they take it the wrong wayI have plenty of reciprocal friendships with straight men. I think the idea that people with the potential to be attracted to each other can't be friends is dumb. Does that mean bisexual people can't have any friends at all? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/08/23 06:07 PM
A lot of women goad 'nice guys' on and then act surprised when they take it the wrong wayMen often say that they wish they would get more compliments, so I think it would be a shame to give them even fewer. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/08/23 06:03 PM
A lot of women goad 'nice guys' on and then act surprised when they take it the wrong wayI understand that it's very frustrating, and they should absolutely not be shamed for it. It's terrible that they are. My problem is that guys have thought I was flirting with them and reacted very negatively when I later turned them down, when I don't think I did anything I wouldn't have done with a woman I knew equally well. I don't want to have to treat men differently. I think a large part of the problem is gender norms that say women are supposed to hint interest rather than say anything di… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/08/23 05:36 PM
A lot of women goad 'nice guys' on and then act surprised when they take it the wrong waySome friends do, and I think some don't realize that's how it's interpreted. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/08/23 04:55 PM
Women who are sexually active, what’s the longest you’ve ever gone without sex and how much of a struggle was it?Maybe about 6 months or so. I like sex a lot, but it doesn't cause me distress to not have sex. I don't think this has anything to do with differences between men and women. We are all different as individuals and have different sex drives. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/08/23 04:51 PM
