Maybe there’s a reason for how you feel to push you forward? She represented something to you, do you know what?

Just my opinion, I think you stepping back to look at the situation is a wise decision. We look for others to see parts of us, which can backfire very easily. I think taking things at a safe pace is smart. You don’t know what will happen with this new woman, or any woman. When we get hurt, we automatically look for ways to avoid going through it again, which can also get in the way of new experiences. Enjoy the attention, don’t let it make your decisions. You also have your past experiences to l…

I agree with this statement. I admit part of it is based out of pain, disappointment and grief. However, no matter how many times I replay my experiences, the core result is the same, no effort to understand from who I thought was my “partner,” no concern for a lack of connection, no ability to lower defenses, and a general inability to acknowledge other’s emotions at their experience and not an attack. That’s not desire for connection. My bias impacts my hope for future connection more than def…

I’m reading these and seeing I’m not alone. To be concise with disregard to labels, I’m trying to separate from a covert narcissist that makes anything into an argument unless she’s trying hard o hoover me for things she wants from me. I’ve tried reasonable discussion and she escalates, pulling our children into adult matters. She will act unfairly, then want to preach what fair means. It is highly exhausting just avoiding drama. I’m too broke for a lawyer or accountant, and had mixed results wi…
