100% - I know damn well perimenopause was the main driving force behind my divorce. She was already more hormonal than most women during cycles, but I learned to navigate those waters and most of the time it wasn’t a big deal. Perimenopause cranked the volume way up on that one. Perimenopause is over and it’s full blown menopause now, but she came out the other side a completely different person, and that new person wanted me gone.

Married 22 years and then she blurted out she didn’t want to be married anymore, didn’t want me to be a part of her life anymore, etc. We weren’t fighting, we had literally just gone out and spent some time together, and then on the drive home she just let it all out. I realize now we weren’t having a good time together before the drive home. I was clueless, I thought we were, but now I think she had already planned on saying this before we went out together and finally mustered the courage to s…

Time. I think you need time. I say that as someone who only has one month on you lol, but a lot changed in that month (inside me). I moved out 3 months ago (she kicked me out) after 22 years. This wasn’t some sudden thing either, she’s been thinking and saying this for a while, needed change. That’s important IMO, for me and you. Anyways, for the first couple months I kept hoping as well. At about 2 and a half months she mentioned reconciling and I got knots in my stomach and I kind of walked aw…

Hang in there man. I’m 3 months in now (moved out 3 months ago). I can relate to some of this. My wife got mad over the most ridiculous and trivial things too. Not a little mad either, way over the top mad. I personally blame hormones. We were great together most of every month, but holy hell, she got mean and nasty once a month. Fine, I get it, women have hormonal issues, and for some women, like my wife, they’re pretty extreme. I hung in there and learned to retreat to the garage for a few day…

1) it’s never too late for a new career. I started my most recent one at 49. I’m on my 3rd career. I’m 54. 2) yeah, that’s rough man. I never really thought of the word narcissist before but I’m thinking my ex might be one too. Hope so anyways, because if not then I am, and I really hope I am not. I don’t think so but narcissists never do either. Anyways, I went from living in a nice 2 story house, 3 car garage, pool, waterfalls, palm trees, the works, to living in an old house with 1 car garage…

I feel ya completely. I have days where I’m ok, borderline happy, about all this, and then some days, not so much, borderline depressed and I fall into a funk. 22 years of marriage here. I moved out 3 months ago. My daughters Father’s Day card was amazing though, she (21) wrong a beautiful note in it talking about how inspirational I have been through all of this, how I continued to keep moving forward, etc. She said it was very inspirational to watch me go through this the way that I am. It suc…

Married 22 years, moved out 3 months ago. I didn’t want to move out but she insisted. I’m far from officially divorced (but it’s been filed, and judge should be approving it soon) but yeah, the longer it goes on the more I realize how miserable she made me. We had good moments, great moments, but majority of the time no, she obviously didn’t like me. We had moments of joy, that’s it, just moments, not a great life together. Every time I even remotely think this might be a bad idea I get a text a…

This is pretty spot on. Who knows what the future holds, but right now, 3 months in, I don’t see myself dating anyone ever again. I don’t want to live like that again. It’s horrible.

Not a success story, but I’m confident I’m becoming more and more better off. I moved out 3 months ago. I didn’t want a divorce, she did. Married 22 years. Moving was painful, still didn’t want to. I had nothing. All my furniture was old ass shit in the garage. Cleaned it up and put it in my new place. I’m finally getting established now, feeling comfortable. Bored silly but I’m ok. Now she wants to reconcile. Months ago I would have, now, no, I can’t. Worked too hard to establish myself, but al…
