Omg this. I'm on my way out the same exact situation same exact emotions as the original poster. When I start to get anxious about how I'm going to feel in my new digs I think about the misery and anxiety and that was part of my life 14 years. Now I can get into anything that I want with regards to Hobbies interests Etc. Those things were disregarded outright for 14 years. Also remind myself of the misery I experienced and suddenly... I feel better :-)

Hello, just some personal sharing: Not advice. My (49M) biological father passed when I was 2 so I never 'knew' him. So my Mom re-married to another man when I was 6 and he legally adopted my brother and I and we each took his last name. So he was my Dad. After about 5 years they too divorced - but - EVERY Wednesday through junior year of high school he took me and my brother (and the daughter he had with my Mom) out for activities. Silly stuff like McDonald's, Putt putt golf, arcades, whatever.…
