We got a fairly cheap white noise machine that we use when traveling, especially when we go to my parents house- they live out in the country and it is eerily quiet now that I'm used to the city..so even I need some noise at that point!

Does it absolutely have to be the TV that is making noise for your husband to sleep? They make inexpensive white noise machines. We use a box fan. My husband would totally keep the TV on if it didn't bother me but the fan seems to work for him.

I didn't get married until 27 which was so strange for my family, who all got married in their early 20's and have like three kids by 30. And so I spent most of my 20's worrying about missing out from the totally opposite end you are! So it's all about perspective, really.

Have you checked r/femalefashionadvice? Search under petite! I know threads like yours show up a bunch. I'm a similar body type (5'2, no hips) but my waist is 24 and I probably have 20 pounds on you, so my go to stores might not work. But I have the same problems with looking younger. I like to pair tops with fitted cardigans or scarves which I think makes me look more adult. I find that tucking in tops (or half tucking in the front) defines my waist and really makes me look more proportional. I…

I grew up listening to Dr. Laura! Some things stuck but some things didn't obviously. I will make that my mantra.

I will, I just need to figure out what to say. And a little more time crying first.

I seem to want a reaction from him that mirrors my own. If I think in terms of intentions, then I could let things go, and then deal with how unloved I still feel as something for me to work through alone. I have to look at this as objectively as you and other people are. Thanks.

You're right. I don't want blood, I just want something my brain has been telling me he should do if he loved me. It doesn't make sense, does it?

admit your desire to control him I haven't thought about it exactly like that, thank you.

I have no problem with him screwing up the pizza. I feel like if he didn't eat it immediately and instead offered to go get me another one I would have laughed it off and said don't worry about it. But it feels like even though he knew I was disappointed he didn't seem to share in that feeling with me, or express any shared feelings. It makes it hard to laugh off because at that point I feel snubbed. Is that any different?

Great article! It's all applicable, but Number 3 has been on my mind so much lately. I'll feel kind of irritated and want to snap at my husband, (which usually turns into me being angry because he won't try to understand my feelings or comfort me) and I'll just think like, hey self, why are you actually upset right now? What specifically do you want? What are you insecure about/what are you afraid of? I can think of at least 3 situations where that has happened in the last two days, which is whe…

Sounds very applicable to my current situation. I actually saw it while browsing Audible the other day but now I think I'll order the paper copy for QUIZZES!

That's encouraging, thanks! Progress after only a month is awesome.

That sounds like a less intimidating option for me right now, thanks!

I get it, I was just being facetious. I'm just starting the process but it already makes me sad that it will probably take a long time.

I haven't, but I've been lurking the past few days and it seems to be something I should read. Yoga sounds easier than changing myself though, haha. But thanks for the recommendation!

I would love to learn to shut up and be a more pleasant person to live with. And you're making yoga sound awesome! But I have reservations because I am the most inflexible person alive. I can't even touch my toes. Is this a problem?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
