trust me, i wake up everyday not being able to fathom the situation i’m in. i had to get 3 jobs while she gets to sit at home all day. this is in illinois.

it’s taking long because there was a lot of back and fourth in the beginning. my wife basically wanted full custody of the children with visitation only, all major holidays, and full decision of medical and educational. all i wanted was 50/50 but she wouldn’t agree to that so the judge appointed a guardian ad litem. this was back in november. the guardian now has covid so there’s a delay. wife has been withholding the kids from me throughout the entire process. i’ve just recently been allowed to…

well the wife didn’t want to come to a fair 50/50 agreement. she wanted full custody and for me to get visitation. along with her being the sole decision maker for the kids medical and education. and she wanted basically all major holidays. obviously i disagreed but it just extended everything longer due to her being insanely difficult. so the judge ordered a guardian ad litem. but then the mediator got ill with covid and that dragged things out even more, even though she was already dragging. a…

court ordered. it was supposed to be till the divorced finalized but we are a year in and i’m still paying it. it’s destroying me. you’d think the $1500 alimony awarded to her was so she could pay her own. guess it’s just spending money while i barely collect enough scraps to pay my own bills

one more question. we are separated, not divorced. would i technically be entitled to claiming the kids since i have the higher AGI. does her currently keeping the kids from me all year benefit her? everywhere i read online it says she’s entitled to the kids since she spend the most nights with them. i’m so lost and frustrated

she claimed the kids before me and it was accepted. despite her not working. apparently alimony as taxable earned income now. but since she is withholding the children from me, she technically has them “more”, so she’s entitled to it. i’m under this assumption. please tell me i’m wrong though

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
