Is "Sexism" really what angers, or is it something else?Yeah, I'm aware of that whole fiasco and how it went down. People who were pissed at Summers are allowed to be pissed, but I don't think they handled it well at all (in fact they handled it in such a way as to almost underline his point for him). All of that said, a group of women reacting badly and then handling that reaction badly still doesn't = all women are overly emotional whiners. There were lots of women who thought the reactions to his statements were ridiculous! | /r/PurplePillDebate | 09/03/14 08:27 PM
On hypergamy... again. The vast majority of us don't whip out IQ tests (or similiar) when interacting with other humans so I am definitely aware that I could be perceiving someone as 'intelligent' when they secretly lack some formal component thereof, or vice-versa (perceiving someone as unintelligent when in fact they're extremely good at one thing etc.). You said this: A brilliant engineer, a worldly english professor, and a successful salesman are all intelligent in very different ways- spacial vs. verbal vs. emoti… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 09/03/14 07:52 PM
Is "Sexism" really what angers, or is it something else? Most of the time I don't even think these people even believe what they're saying. Someone in my social group is a hardcore radfem and if you were to speak to her you would get the definite impression that she dislikes men. And she'll confirm for you that she thinks men are violent, oversexed, mostly-useless creatures that women would be better off without. Except she lives with one - her longterm boyfriend. I dared to bring this seemingly incongruent fact up once and she went nuts - "HE'S NOT L… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/03/14 08:53 PM
Is "Sexism" really what angers, or is it something else?Yes, they do exist. They are the reason I answer "no" when someone asks me if I'm a feminist. That said, this type of person exists everywhere and the RP sub seems full of the male versions. I don't have time for those people, regardless of what 'side' they're on. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/03/14 08:27 PM
On hypergamy... again.I've thought about this quite a bit. My experience with men has been that they either very quickly nope on outta there when they get the first inkling that I might be their intellectual equal (or, possibly, their better) or they get a LOT more interested. It's generally one of those 2 reactions and rarely no reaction at all. I did consider whether or not to be offended by men in the first group, but actually, I'm not. Smart is a big deal to me. I love - LOVE - smart men, love talking to them, lo… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/03/14 08:12 PM
On hypergamy... again.Would you marry a woman who was uglier, poorer, dumber and less-educated than you? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/03/14 08:01 PM
On hypergamy... again.Reading through the thread I see this data was gathered from people who would have been marrying in the 50s. That matters, I think. I think it would be significant if it was only 20 or 30 years ago, too. Do I think things have changed completely since 1950? No, but they have changed a lot. This isn't to say that every marriage in which the woman outearns the man is going to be smooth sailing (there are links in this thread where people involved in those marriages say otherwise), but I no longer … | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/03/14 07:55 PM
Liam Neeson turned down James Bond role to marry Natasha Richardson.. Any woman worth that much?I don't see how this has anything to do with gender. All people in a relationship, male or female, given an opportunity that will mean the end of the relationship, will then go through a decision-making process that boils down to 'what means more to me - this opportunity or the perosn I'm with?' and will make their decision based on the answer(s) to that question. I've been in a relationship where I would have taken the job. But I would also feel fine choosing the person over the job. He betrays… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/03/14 07:49 PM
Is "Sexism" really what angers, or is it something else?Dude. You know that thing where someone posts in RP about women being incapable of emotional and mental maturity and then someone in another sub mentions it and then some Red Pillers say "we don't all think that"? That's how it is. With every group of human beings who mostly agree on a lot of things but will necessarily never agree on everything, that's how it is. I am a woman and I oppose all affirmative-action type policies. This doesn't mean sexism doesn't exist. There are women in the first … | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/03/14 07:29 PM
If Red Pillers just need to treat women like people, can Blue Pillers explain how to treat people like people in an affirmative way?No, I am not saying "ignore patterns". I'm saying "be aware that patterns will not serve you well 100% of the time, because not everyone will fit into a given pattern." I'm also specifically answering the question asked by the OP, who did not ask about retail service. Assuming a customer's needs is probably very useful in sales, with the only negative outcome likely to be a loss of a sale when one makes the wrong assumption. That's not a huge deal. Putting someone off, someone you're genuinely i… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 07/03/14 04:40 AM
If Red Pillers just need to treat women like people, can Blue Pillers explain how to treat people like people in an affirmative way?Hmmm, I think I was conflating 2 recent posts, I had it in my head that OP was actually NOT looking for active advice. But, re-reading I see you're right, there is a specific request there. So, how to put what I said above into something actionable? How to explain treating people positively. The first thing I would say, and this is gender-neutral advice, is to listen - really listen - to what another person is saying to you, especially if you are newly acquainted. When interacting with someone n… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/03/14 08:14 PM
If Red Pillers just need to treat women like people, can Blue Pillers explain how to treat people like people in an affirmative way?I'll bite. How to treat a person (male, female or other) as a person: - when meeting them (i.e. before you have had time to learn anything about this person's values, beliefs, insecurities, issues, pet-peeves, hobbies etc. etc. etc.), assume nothing about them. Are you a radfem woman, meeting a man for the first time? Do not assume he is a misogynist rapist because he has a dick in his pants. Are you a terper meeting a woman for the first time? Do not assume she is a mental child or an egotist b… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/03/14 07:26 PM
Sexual morality of young women - how to play players? It doesn't matter if he's 10/10 it matters what you are. Your personality also, to some extent, matters (a charming, vivacious 9/10 is going to have more success with males than a boring, mostly mute 9/10). If you're an 8+ or higher out of 10 and have more personality than a rock, you can have your way with the vast majority of men. Never pursue, maintain enough distance to remain intriguing and make them do the work. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/03/14 07:51 PM
How Many of You Believe In The Wall (A Woman Loses Sexual Market Value When She Turns 30)?You need to sit down and have an honest think with yourself. How much do you want children in the context of marriage? I.e. is the risk of losing this goal outweighed by the increased happiness you would find being without your current boyfriend or not? You also need to be honest with yourself (granted, pretty much impossible but worth a try) about your own ability to attract a higher value mate. Who do you want to be with? Will he want to be with you? Lock in current bf and guarantee achievemen… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/03/14 07:30 PM
