"Ms White claimed that Affleck had refused to pay her salary because she would not spend the night in a hotel room with him" How does that work? Was Affleck signing her paychecks? She calls it her "salary" so I assume she is working for a company with a payroll department that makes sure she gets paid according to her contract. No one in the company I work for can withhold my pay. They are contractually required to keep paying me until I am no longer employed by them.

I once did a gen ed elective where the teacher wanted me to do a shit load of work like writing a 3000 word essay. Fortunately I found this all out in the first week and dropped the class and found some other boring but low-effort elective to do.

I agree reporting it is not going to help you for the reasons you outline. I'm the type of person that doesn't like to attract attention (see my username). I would probably just sign up for instagram then delete that shit after the course is complete. However, my biggest concern is privacy(*). I don't want my details plastered all over the internet forever. I would be reading the instagram T&Cs carefully and turn on every privacy setting on the account.
