Most of you probably saw this a few months ago when it was first posted, but for those of you who didn’t, I want to draw your attention to it: a post over at Heretical Sex on How To Be A Queen Bee. It compares the “popular girls” who control the social scenes in schools to feminist leaders:

Gang membership is enforced by rules, and Wiseman mentions examples from the cliques she studied, such as having to wear pink on a Friday, or not wearing a skirt more than twice a week, or not speaking to certain individuals in school.

I remember those girls from my own school days, and the description of them in this post is absolutely accurate. It hadn’t occurred to me that the same kind of girl, grown up, is trying to control the adult world now. Considering what a nightmare school is for almost everyone who goes through it, this is a terrifying thought.

I’m not sure what to do about it. This is a hard-wired evolutionary pattern of behavior. The only way I can see to combat it is to reinforce moral codes with male authority figures, such as Judeo-Christian religion.
