Softbone was released in August. At this rate Jake Long 2 will be out for Christmas. If you liked cyberpunk before, you’re going to really love it now. If you haven’t read fiction until you read Softbone, I’m going to deliver.
There isn’t a title yet, this is where I’ll be keeping an ear out for you guys in the coming months. The moral theme of Softbone 2 (working title: Jeet Alley) is simple:
You can’t redpill your friends.
It’ll be the same Amazon techno feudalist feminine utopia. The same Jake Long. The same New Kowloon. A whole new shithole. The premise is simple: the system doesn’t care if you saved the world, it’s still going to make more tech at the expense of your quality of life. Deflate the currency, hook a new generation of women on SSRI’s, bring in unlimited migrants to depress wages. You made a fortune so the fortune is now worthless.
And the best part. I’m looking at Kickstarter. It’s not enough to just have people read a book and like a book. I want to offer cooler shit for the early readers. Custom cover designs by some great artists I know, Special, limited edition covers. Signed copies, the works. Plus, there’s a lot of people who would enjoy it, but don’t know about it.
It’s like I say. The hardest part about writing books is getting people to learn who you are. Enjoy some concept art. I’ve been hooked on Moebius, and think his aesthetic will be perfect for the sequel.
