Intro
Under a previous post, Women are the Gatekeepers of Sex : A Red Pill Truth, but is it Biblical? (2024/9/27), Jax told us how he dealt with a lackluster response from a girl he met. My impression is that she stonewalled him for reasons she’s not willing to disclose, but there could be another explanation. Jax called her out on the B$, but it did not affect her. Some commenters thought Jax’s response made him appear butthurt over her apparent rejection.
I won’t speculate about Jax’s approach or the girl’s intentions or motivations here, but I will address one point of confusion that came up in the comments. It is a common error that needs to be made clear.
What is the Most Appropriate Response?
AngloSaxon said,
“Of course we need to call women out on their garbage decisions. Who cares if this comes across as ‘butthurt’? Women need to be rebuked for how they behave. And why are you using such juvenile nonsense as ‘butthurt’ to express yourself anyway? Do we really think that men have to wait until gurlz ‘respect’ them before they get to do anything? You will be waiting a long time if you think that way…”
In general, this is a good attitude. However, the Christian Manosphere has had a long discussion of this issue (see posts under Related) and has concluded that there are some necessary conditions to consider, depending on the context.
DeepStrength answered,
“There’s zero point to doing this, and in fact, it’s probably a negative. Women generally only take correction from men they respect. Not only does it fly right past her as Jack said, it only really confirms that her choice of action of being into school, feminism, eschewing dating, and whatever was right because it comes off as being butt hurt.”
AngloSaxon responded,
“I completely disagree with Deep Dumb here. Someone needs to tell these girlies that their decisions are bad and they are to go find husbands. That should be coming from daddy + Mr. Preacher but often isn’t the case. Who cares about all that game garbage? Just tell these chicks what’s right.”
AngloSaxon added,
“Don’t all Christian men have a degree of responsibility to Christian women? We’re brothers and sisters in Christ.”
Responsibilities
AngloSaxon poses a pertinent question. What are we responsible for?
We are responsible for our fellow human according to The Law of Responsibility — We have agency and freedom of will, and thus we are responsible for how we influence others. But we must also remember The Law of Power — We cannot change other people directly, but we do have the power to change our own selves which can often change other people indirectly — and The Law of Respect — We cannot violate the free will of others. We must be proactive in exercising self-control and respecting the boundaries of others.
There is also the practical reality of whether one has any genuine spiritual authority over the person. That is to say in very practical terms, will your words and actions have a beneficial impact, or will they be scorned and dismissed? It’s the “Do not throw your pearls to swine” idea, because doing so would be irresponsible.
We must also beware of adhering to the general principle of secular altruistic idealism in which one’s actions are indiscriminate of the beneficiary. This is also the basis of Chivalry, which is Feminist, NOT Christian. Most Western men have been erroneously taught that this is what it means to be a moral Christian man, and they’ve been trained to do this on autopilot, so they need to be made aware of it. In the Biblical view, moral actions should be primarily directed toward one’s own dependents, family, tribe, etc. It is foolish to help strangers without any sense of evangelism, moral purpose, or responsibility, or without any interest in integrating that person into one’s family / tribe / domain of authority.
All this boils down to one simple question: How far are you able and/or willing to go to make sure she gets it right and to see to her needs? If you really understand what all that involves, you won’t be saying things like “ALL Christian men have a responsibility to Christian women”. Although this is a general truism, it is more precise to say that Christian men have a responsibility to women with whom they have a covenant or contractual relationship with, i.e. wives, daughters, relatives, those in their church, employees, and maybe a few others who happen to submit to your authority. The others need to first decide whether they’re willing to submit to a man’s patriarchal authority in order to avail of the benefits thereof, such as being corrected. And yes, contrary to what feminists screech, being corrected and ‘covered’ by a man is a benefit for their souls.
Conclusions
It is only at this point that we can properly address this kind of situation with a full awareness of our own responsibility in the matter coupled with a realistic expectation of the outcome.
For those women who are within your domain of authority, AngloSaxon’s view is correct.
“Someone needs to tell these girlies that their decisions are bad and they are to go find husbands. […] Just tell these chicks what’s right.”
But for the grand majority of women, i.e. those who do not recognize you as an authority in her life, it is as DeepStrength said…
“There’s zero point to doing this, and in fact it’s probably a negative. Women generally only take correction from men they respect. Not only does it fly right past her as Jack said, it only really confirms that her choice of action of being into school, feminism, eschewing dating, and whatever was right because it comes off as being butt hurt.”
DeepStrength wrote (emphasis added),
“Calling out a woman is what Christian men need to do IF they have responsibility for her such as a wife or children. You can also do this with friends or those you know well.
However, calling out a random girl you’ve texted for a few days is going to do nothing at best and usually drive her more into her ways at worst.”
“If you want women to actually turn from feminism then you can’t reinforce it by doing stuff like this.”
So how? You let them flounder and fail until they see for themselves that they need a man, and that submitting to a man’s authority has much needed benefits that they cannot obtain elsewhere.
Sorry Carly. It’s another ugly RP truth.
