Intro
The fellows at Scored / Kotaku In Action 2 have been discussing Problems with The Red Pill — Exposition (2024/3/1) under a post entitled, The State of the Manosphere (2024/3/5). Some of the comments are quite insightful. I’ve copied a few here and arranged them to form a dialogue.

The Dirty Secret of Maintaining Western ‘Civilization’
Info asks,
“Why has ‘Red Pill’ become a dirty word even for the attachment specialist?”
TheOpiner answers Info’s question.
“I get the impression that the current strategy by those critical of the Red Pill / Manosphere is to poison the well, censor the philosophical content, and make it so socially stigmatised that everyone moves back toward family values, feminism, and gynocracy.”
Well, feminism and gynocracy, yes. But family values? Nuh uh. Nope.
You see, if the dirty secret of maintaining a civilization is no longer a secret, and men are reacting to this nasty truth by pulling out and letting it fester, crash, and burn, then the final culmination of widespread Red Pill awareness ends in societal-wide nihilism. THAT is why ‘Red Pill’ has become a dirty word, adding to the fact that it contains many MANY inconvenient, rude, and unpleasant truths.
F_ckGenderPolitics relays this story to explain why.
“Building and maintaining civilization is impossible without stopping women and their Chad chasing from torpedoing the whole thing, and the truth is there aren’t any great options for solving the problem. The most effective one historically was enforcing monogamy by various means, but that involved gaslighting beta providers into thinking their b!tch wives’ campaign to punish them for not being Chad was part of their “angelic” nature.”
What FGP calls ‘gaslighting’ is the sophisticated art of NOT disturbing men’s altruistic, idealistic fantasies of ‘love’, which naturally serves as a useful smokescreen that conceals women’s preferred mating strategy of soft polyandry / serial monogamy, thus keeping it secretive.
If this secret were put into words, it might be phrased like this.
“You’ve somehow proven yourself to be good looking enough, rich enough, generous enough, desperate enough, and stupid enough to entertain the atten$ion of a carousel rider in decline who’s already pre-cucked you. Now, we know it’s just your turn, but we’ll let you believe you’re the only one who gets a turn. And if she’s lousy at keeping her past a secret, then we’ll let you believe you’re the only one who ‘truly matters’. If you want to gaslight yourself into believing she’s ‘truly yours’, well then our work is easy. Maybe we can come up with some pretty lies to that effect, in order to reduce our work of maintaining your delusion.”
The Red Pill blows those pretty lies to smithereens.
But the problem with this is that keeping women’s profligacies secret and downplaying the harm done is absolutely necessary to keep men on The Plantation™, as FGP goes on to explain.
“The truth is there aren’t many men who would participate in this charade if they knew their wives saw them as subhumans to be exploited and discarded (and preferably put to death afterwards, but the feminists haven’t managed to work that into the divorce laws yet). Both sides of the coin are eager to defend the web of lies they’ve spun about intergender relations because without men the whole clown show crashes and burns.”
Thus, to further answer Info’s question, the Red Pill has become a dirty word because it is spilling the big s1ut secret and anti-gaslighting men, which ironically spells big trouble for maintaining Western Civnattery.
A Concerted Effort to Rebuild the Mound / Save The Plantation™
KingLion7 points out that there is a concerted effort to save The Plantation™ by condemning all things Red Pill.
“There have always been feminists, both overt lefties and covert normies cons / churchians, doing just that.
There are a great deal of snake oil salesmen claiming to be “Red Pilled” on YouTube however, and even normie media occasionally tries to claim the phrase.”
TheOpiner adds,
“I’ve noticed the Right have also been doing that in recent times too, particularly since the demographic downturn in births and marriages.”
Red Pill Nihilism
It is not difficult for these entities to vilify The Red Pill. The_Shadow_of_Intent writes,
“No offense to anyone in the “movement,” but the Red Pill as I understand it originally was great as a description of our times, horrible as a prescription. Understanding the true instinctive nature of women? Cool. Going out and spinning as many plates as possible? You’re just making it worse for everyone else and setting yourself up for the same lonely childless existence as roasties.”
SoctaticMethod1 explains that it is no longer feasible to maintain the big secret, because feminism has poisoned The Plantation™.
“…unless you remove women as the necessary part of having kids you ain’t going to get far.
A lot of men WANT to be fathers, teachers, and masters to apprentices, and feminists have skillfully and vindictively put barriers and roadblocks to that. Unless you remove that by both learning away from the institutions they dominate and even do artificial wombs, everything else is bandaid at best, cope at worst.”
SoI concludes,
“I get the idea, to basically look out for number 1 in a time of social doom. It’s not like there’s a lot of good ideas out there.
Sheer Selfishness
Another strike against the Red Pill is the sheer selfishness that accompanies it.
Lethn writes,
“…you can simplify what happened to the Red Pill movement pretty easily these days just by saying it’s filled with church grifters among other things. I think what isn’t talked about nearly enough is how especially with these podcasters that have mysteriously popped up over the years I have a deep suspicion of Musl!m glowie involvement. There seems to be a concerted push by the Red Pill movement these days to get young men going towards religion in one form or another and the Red Pillers don’t seem to care which religion they go for.”
I assume Lethn is talking about the Red Pill 2.0, but I think he is somewhat off on that. Men turning to religion, i.e. Christianity, was one of the final culminations of taking the original Red Pill 1.0. Many men who were intentionally running away from God eventually found Him at the bottom of the barrel — to everyone’s surprise. A strange irony.
SoI writes,
“But the fact that the Manosphere is now a bunch of hucksters fronting rented Lambos and trying to pass off paid whores as a harem should not come as a surprise. Selfishness breeds hustlers.”
Anti-gaslighting is now the rave because knowing the truth allows men to be just as selfish as women too. Another irony.
GhostBond adds,
“Most groups have this happen to them, the exceptions are work, and ones where well-funded powerful people manipulate things to keep the group alive.”
GhostBond also spells out how sheer selfishness can ‘work’ for some men.
“I know someone who [went out and spun as many plates as possible]. He’s getting married this summer.
Guys who are actually doing it typically get into a cycle.
- It’s awful to get started.
- It’s fun for a while and the novelty is exciting.
- The novelty wears off and they start to realize that one vagina is not really different than another.
- The guy either leaves completely — or he finds a girl who’s trying to make him happy, and realizes everything will be way more enjoyable to F_ck someone who’s waiting for him at home, than it would be to continue having to go out to the store every time he wants to F_ck.
Playing House is better than an endless tiresome hunt for h0es in a debased market.
SoI responded,
“Good for him, but history shows getting married is just the start. The abysmal decline of marriage health in the Boomer generation set us up for a lot of today’s problems, and it can be hard to adjust from a life of self-interest. c.f. pair bonding rates declining with an increase in sexual partners. I wish him luck.”
Yes, it’s good for a select few, catastrophe for everyone else.
A Plethora of Red Pill Prescriptions — with Limitations

It also really depends on who you receive the information from (Rollo, Chateau, HoeMath, trp.red, etc.), and can distort one’s view on a possible solution to problems of modern society.”
“Some take the RP and “go their own way”, just drop out of the game completely. Some of these are incels that are just giving up, others are those that actually have gotten some before and are just tapping out.”
“The “prescription” [GhostBond is] describing is the PUA / Game answer to how to go about navigating the SMP, probably the oldest variant of the “solution” I’m aware. It’s gained the most traction for desperate men trying to get some nookie. And the traditionalist response to this happening is just typical Purple Pill pilpul. I would argue the men doing this spinning stuff just don’t care, and you won’t be able to shame them out of it.”

Tourgen agrees.
“Yeah, I don’t think it’s actually prescriptive, and anyone saying it is is selling you something.
“Spinning plates” is not a longtime lifestyle. it does protect men from one-itis that many young men fall into. Women aren’t unique or “The One”. They’re all kind of the same and when you date a few of them you understand, and not really before.”
Lethn continues,
“I do agree with the general criticisms of the new Red Pill movement, because it does very much fall in line with the tradcuck beliefs of how men should give themselves up to women instead of standing up to their behaviour and that makes them ‘alphas’ for doing that. Which is where a lot of the strange artificial looking “Hurr durr get married and have a family that will show them” with zero mention of all the problems men face in that situation with family court, mental health, and su!c!de, etc., not to mention false accusations and paternity fraud.”
The reason why God has allowed the Red Pill to gain prominence is because it allows those men who have the wherewithal to assume authority and thus, a greater chance of redemptive suffering is manifested, as opposed to woodchipper suffering.
A Historical Summary
GiveThemNothing gives us a summary of the damage.
“Some historical context, as far as I recall and understand it:
- The Red Pill was the realization what female nature truly is and how it is weaponized by The System™ to keep men obedient and subservient.
The concept that The Plantation™ exists and that women are unaware but willing agents of The System™ is THE KEY realization of TRP.
- PUAs joined in and realized that The System™ can be Gamed, and subverted TRP into “be the bestest prettiest Clown House Boy and the Massas will choose you for sex. Game, Lyyyiiifftt, Hodl Framez, ALPAH!!!”, and other stupid inanities.
- MGTOW rose against the PUA movement, as a statement of personal ownership and refusal to participate.
MGTOW’s most valuable realization is that THERE ARE NO “Alpahs” in The Plantation™, ONLY SL@VES.
- Passport Bros came along and posited that one CAN exit The System™ and live a reasonably fulfilled life building a family with an attractive feminine woman in a country where men are not hated and disadvantaged.
Only time will tell if this is just a delusion and we are stepping out and into another, more global Matrix.
What we all agree upon, around the Manosphere, is that The System™ is rotten to the core and is irretrievably damaged in its current form.”
Yes, there’s no turning back now. Alderaan is destroyed. Returning to The Plantation™ is a recipe for even more disaster.
