It’s NOT for Men
Men like to think that a woman dresses for the man in her life, to make herself attractive to him, and for him.
But in reality, this is rare.
Yes, women do LOVE the attention of a high-value man, especially when they can get the attention of a man other women desire and thus cause those women to envy her. So we might assume that women dress to attract such men.
This does happen on occasion, but this is not always the case. In fact, it’s rather rare.
It is a mistake to assume that a woman’s first thought is to dress herself according to a man’s tastes (or mens’ in general), or to make herself more attractive or beautiful to please a man or win men’s favor.
What is her motivation for wearing this particular sundress? In reality, all they’re doing is drawing the lustful attention of low-value wankers. Women know this, and they hate Hate HATE this side-effect of dressing hot, especially when the interaction consumes her time and emotional energy, or the association lowers her social status.
So then what motivates women to wear a business pantsuit, or a burqa, or a frumpy denim jumper, or a sweatshirt / hoodie, or anything that does not accentuate their natural beauty???
Dressing to Conform vs Dressing to Compete
There are two basic contexts that affect women’s motivations to dress a certain way: (1) Dressing to Conform, and (2) Dressing to Compete. In general, women dress to conform, and on certain special occasions, they’ll dress to compete.
When dressing to conform, women will choose their clothing with respect to the opinions of other women, specifically women in their clique, NOT what would be seen as most attractive to men.
Like with cosmetics, women will don similar colors and styles of clothing to signify they are part of the archetypal social set she identifies with. Her appearance must fit the generic feminine brand of “looking good” that is accepted by the herd. If a woman looks TOO delicious (by either men’s or lesser endowed women’s estimations), she’ll be castigated as a s1ut by the harridan hens who can’t compete. That is a no no!
A woman who dresses specifically to please a man has betrayed the p_ssy cartel. Thus, women will only wear sexy, sultry clothing when they perceive that bagging a man’s attention, commitment, and/or investment, or making $$$ off their sex appeal, is worth sacrificing her standing in the P_ssy cartel. This is why women often go to bars and clubs alone or with a very small clique of other women. Women won’t go-go a h0eing with women they don’t know intimately well.
In this case, h0ez are competing against s1utz FOR men’s attention, ca$h, investment, and $ub$cription$ — NOT for the MEN themselves, mind you, although this may be taken into account and/or implemented in the context of OASIS. The goal is to draw attention to themselves and make themselves more attractive and beautiful than their competition, or to maximize their income from marketing their sex appeal. It’s actually NOT for men. Women know exactly how to dress to make themselves appealing to men, and most women will NOT ever dress that way (unless she happens to be an OASIS starlet or she’s in a clique that does). That would be considered h0ey or s1utty by women’s estimations. (However, this is not as taboo as it was years ago.)
Married women will hardly ever wear those high heels and that skimpy red dress. Even though her husband may like it, she’ll say “It’s too much work”.
Why? No competition. He’s already committed.
But h0ez hitting the bar will have a closet full of sexy skirts, stiletto shoes, and slinky accessories. They’ll spend hours and thousands of dollars at the salon to make themselves as hot as possible.
Why? Competition.
The context makes all the difference.
Men might looksmax, but they’ll do it for dignity and to garner respect. Men don’t wear Armani and drive a Porsche just to make the next guy look like an impoverished vagabond.
But women do and will.
Once the competition is gone or the tally is in the bag, she’ll revert back to whatever her default setting is, which is often disappointing to men. She’ll expect the man to be content with whatever that is, which is naïvely solipsistic.
News Flash: Whatever a woman does to catch a man, that is what she’ll have to continue doing in order to keep him.
Case Study — Dress Length
Cassey Ho is a health and fitness instructor, and she’s also a clothing designer who is popular because she markets clothing designs that women want but are unable to find commercially produced. She uses YouTube and Instagram to get ideas and feedback about how she can make her designs better.
In this post (2024/9/4), Cassey presents two lengths of a white ‘Pirouette skort’ in two different sizes.
There are more than a thousand comments in response to this post, and most of them offer ideas about how to improve the design for either size. I’ve only read the top comments, but from what I’ve read, most women say the longer ‘small’ size and the shorter ‘1x’ size are better. However, most men say the shorter ‘small’ size and the longer ‘1x’ size are better.
Why is there a difference between men’s and women’s opinions?
Women will state this opinion because of the need to conform to the herd mentality. They have to apply the same standards to everyone, and they don’t want to differentiate on the basis of dress size which is a proxy indicator for weight and therefore attractiveness. IOW, they are avoiding any stance that would imply there is an intrasexual competition. It’s posture posing for ‘inclusion’.
You see, the competition is not about looking their best in men’s opinion, but in who can be the best champion for the feminine herd — and the narrative is different for every social context.
One of these girls has literally grown out of her peer clutch, and is not afraid to flaunt them. Speaking from a man’s POV, this ‘skort’ is not particularly attractive, but if we had to choose, the shorter ‘small’ size appears more athletic and youthful, and it accentuates the girl’s figure better, whereas the longer ‘1x’ size just seems more appropriate and fitting for a larger woman. To be crudely honest, we really DON’T want to see that cottage cheese cellulite on the back of her thighs and the rolls of fat around wherever we might guess her knees are. Put more gracefully, bigger women have more dignity when they cover that up.
The male commenters at Cassey’s site are honest about what can be done to improve the design of the ‘skort’, but they’re not very frank about why. Men are just too polite to say so, or they don’t want to deal with the vitriolic response they know they’ll get from women, or they just don’t care.
Conclusions
In general, women do NOT dress for men, or to make themselves attractive or beautiful to win men’s favor. They dress to identify with a specific social group and to FIT IN and to be accepted by their peer clutches.
Even when competing with other women on rare occasion, they’ll only do what is necessary to best the competition and to obtain their desire. Once done, this stratagem is abandoned.
OASIS starlets will dress to arouse men’s desire, but only because it earns them more $$$.
Concerning the Case Study, if you asked a woman which dress length she would choose for herself, do you think she would agree with the men, or with the women, or would she have her own opinion that dances around the context?
Men, if you find a woman who dresses to please you, and only you, who wears the clothing styles you like, and who values your opinion more than that of her female peers, then you’ve found a rare and valuable gem. Such behavior deserves to be rewarded.
