Personal Reflections
Under The Black Pill Fear of Being Used (2023/8/14), Oscar asked,
“Hey Jack, do you qualify as a Passport Bro?”
Well, I came to Taiwan back in 2004, long before the Passport Bros became a thing. I had met several people from Taiwan during my graduate studies, and they all seemed like very high quality people. After that, I wanted to visit Taiwan. I came to Taiwan a few years later, and then my whole life changed. After a couple years, I never wanted to go back to the States. Looking back, and on a deeper level, I could say that I came to Taiwan because I felt God was leading me here. But I wasn’t very well aware of that at the time.
I didn’t come to Taiwan to look for a wife, but rather to get a breath of fresh air away from the ever increasingly gynocentric American culture. But in the back of my mind, I kinda knew I would find a wife here. Sure enough, after I arrived here, I got loads of attention every day from all kinds of women, and I got married within 18 months.
My first marriage didn’t last. I wish I knew then what I know now.
When I married my first wife, I explicitly told her that my career was in Taiwan and that I would NOT be returning to the States, and she agreed to marry me (anyway?). So I thought things would be OK. But a few years later, she was secretly trying to ruin my career in Taiwan in an effort to force me to move back to the States. Apparently, she had the idea that she could “change” me and coerce me to do what she wanted. Nope! After a few years of court battles, she divorced me and found another way to go to the U.S. without me.
My second wife’s mother was once an American citizen. My wife has relatives in the U.S. and she’s visited them regularly throughout her life. She hates the U.S. and never wanted to marry an American man — until she met me. Things have gone much better with her.
I still get IOIs but not nearly as much anymore (maybe once a week), partly because I’ve aged, partly because I’m married, and partly because Taiwan has become more modernized and Westernized. Westerners are no longer regarded as exotic and notorious as they once were.
Do I qualify as a Passport Bro? Looking back, it sure looks that way, but I didn’t have the same motivations that the Passport Bros do. I don’t know if that changes anything or not.
In the remainder of this post, I want to go over some important things that are not explicitly stated or are not stressed enough by the content producers pushing the Passport strategy. Concerning what you are about to read, some of the nuances may have only applied to me 20 years ago, but I believe much of it is still relevant.
SMP Dynamics
Passport Bro proponents like to point out that they’re seen as a Western HVM in foreign countries. That’s true, but it doesn’t necessarily put you in the top 10% of market selection. Why not? It’s because the highest quality chicks in any culture go for the guys of their own tribe and race, guys who are accomplished, well established, and have money — and this is especially true in a Patriarchal culture. “Normal” well-adjusted women don’t latch on to a foreigner unless they’re desperate and can’t do any better in their own tribe. Or maybe they just love giant hairy men with blue eyes (like in the movies) and/or the idea of being disemboweled by a huge Johnson (like in Western p0rn), AND they don’t give a d@mn about being disowned by their family members, ostracized by their friends, and shamed on a daily basis.
Far from being in the top 10%, when you move to a different culture, you place yourself on the bottom rung of the SMP in the short-term “novelty” category. Yes, foreign men are considered to be HVM in general… but… they’re also “foreigners”, which places them in an entirely different market that has certain stigmas attached to it. So that means you will be selecting from the low to middle quality girls in an SMP that has already been thoroughly picked through by the locals.
Typical Traits of Accessible Women
In foreign lands, you’ll attract a lot of women who have been undervalued or rejected by their own culture for any number of reasons. You can expect to get women with one or more of the following characteristics.
Lifestyles
- Divorcees
- Single mothers
- Retired concubines, sex workers, etc.
- Bartenders, dancers, entertainers, etc.
- “Too Westernized” (Translation: Feminist, g@y, promiscuous, W0ke, etc.)
- Catholics, Christians, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, or other religion that is considered foreign to the culture. And being a minority religious group, most of these are FAR from being exemplary models of their religion.
A Taiwanese woman prepares betelnuts while socializing with a customer. Physical Features
- Overweight
- Uncommonly short or tall
- Asymmetrical physical features
- Birth defects, scars, or other marring features
- Physical features are disproportionate or ‘goony’ looking.
- Infertile (medically confirmed)
Socio-Psychological Traits
- Arrogant, proud, etc.
- Anhedonic, depressed, poor affect, etc.
- Extremely low or exceptionally high IQ.
- Odd personality, socially maladjusted, etc.
- Low impulse control, poor self-control, etc.
- Too brash, forward, or outspoken for propriety.
- Personality disorders, e.g. Bipolar, BPD, OCD, NPD, etc.
- Comes from a broken or dysfunctioning family, emotionally traumatized, rejected by her family, etc.
IOW, you’ll be eating the crumbs that fall from the table, but the payoff is that the crumbs will still be MUCH better quality (in terms of a LTR / marriage) than what a man would be able to find / attract in the West.
Vetting
Cross-cultural relationships are difficult and require a lot of humility, patience, and hard work. It is not easy to overcome cultural differences and language barriers. It’s of crucial importance to discern the difference between cultural barriers and relational barriers. The former can be a fun learning experience leading to personal development, whereas the latter can be utterly catastrophic.
The trick about doing the Passport thing is that you have to be wary of women who see you as a Green Card, or Mr. Moneybags, and/or who expect to move to the States (and use you to do it). Remember, Briffault’s Law applies all around the world.
Most Asian women are only looking for attention, cultural or language exchange, entertainment, friendship, validation, etc. Very few of them are interested in a LTR or marriage, especially with a foreigner, unless you can ‘convince’ her with your masculine charm and sexual charisma (a good hard unprotected d!cking) and ‘convert’ her to your way of thinking. Essentially, you’ll be competing in a worldly SMP.
Speaking for the countries that I’ve visited or have had extensive interactions with the citizens, here are the things men should be aware of.
- In China and Taiwan, you’ll attract a lot of retired concubines or women who have non-zero N counts. Most are just 1 or 2, while some are quite high.
- In the Philippines, you’ll find a lot of married women (some with children) who are estranged from their husbands and who may hide the fact that they’re married. (Divorce is illegal in the Philippines.) You’ll also find single mothers, status seekers, and chicks who want to go live in the West.
- In Singapore, you’ll find gold diggers.
- In Malaysia, you’ll find Muslims and a wide assortment of very conservative and some very liberated women. There are also some open minded broads who love Wh!te guys and giant c0ck.
- Thailand has some nice girls, but also many tr@nn!es. Plus, you’ll be in competition with swarms of other Western guys. Many of them are Alphas who got fed up with Feminism and moved there years ago. So the challenge is to find a girl who hasn’t already done the nightclub scene and hasn’t been defiled by other foreigners.
- Indonesia is based and pretty fresh*. Most Indonesians are Muslim, but there are some Christians.
- I’ve heard from friends that Myanmar is based and fresh*.
- Cambodia is listed as a popular destination for Passport Bros, but I haven’t heard anything about it first hand.
In spite of what the Western news has been teaching, Wh!te, native English speaking men are still preferred everywhere outside the West, so it’ll be easier if a man can pass for Wh!te. I’ve heard that Black men and Indian men can get some traction in the Philippines, but I’m not sure how well their LTRs turn out though.
If I was back in the market for a wife and I had to go somewhere other than Taiwan, I’d probably choose Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, or rural Thailand.
* Based: The culture is characterized by patriarchal authority and observes traditional gender roles.
Fresh: Not too many foreigners outside of megametropolis / tourist locations (like Bali, Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila). Foreigners are generally welcomed.
Magic Dirt
Following on the heels of Japan, Asian cultures are becoming more Westernized by the day, especially India, Taiwan, and Vietnam. India is embroiled in a ‘Civil’ War over whether to remain Patriarchal or become “Westernized”. Vietnam has been undergoing a “quiet” sexual revolution since ~2005 and is now at the stage of development where single mothers are coming out of the closet. Taiwan had a belated #MәT00 cataclysm last year which continues to grow in extent. All in all, the mating market is flooded in most areas around the world. You just have to find one that’s ‘better’ than the one you’re in presently.
We’ve often heard statements that the U.S. is NOT “Magic Dirt” that can transform immigrants into high quality citizens overnight. Well, the U.S. IS “Magic Dirt” that can corrupt decent immigrant women into feminist slores overnight. I’ve personally witnessed this happen many times. In general, this is not only because of the country / culture, but the fact that women are herd thinkers and have a propensity to entropy, so then the country / community becomes a key influential factor. Also, the culture shock of moving to a different country makes women weak to resist temptation (and men too, so watch out for yourself).
So for it to work out, you have to continue to live abroad after you find someone and get married, AND you have to STAY in the foreign country until your relationship has settled to the point where she is no longer itching to scratch her hypergamonkey or has no other viable options. AND you have to make a pretty decent living wage in an internationalized job market. So unless you are at the top of your profession in the West, and you can transplant your career to establish yourself in a foreign culture, there is slim hope of finding lucrative / rewarding work abroad. The planning, preparation, and logistics are crucially important and are unique and often complex for each country. Not many men can pull it off.
Also, foreign countries are “Magic Dirt” in the negative sense for men. Unless you already have connections / family there, it’s not easy to set yourself up in a foreign country and it WILL take a heavy toll on you. I’ve seen many types of men come and go over the years. In general, the progression happens like this. They are bright eyed and dapper when they first arrive. Culture shock sinks in at around 4 months. Daily confrontations with locals lead to them becoming bitter, burned out, and/or hopeless. Some cannot afford expenses, or deal with cultural complexities, or hold down a job, or meet visa requirements, or dodge the many complications of life. Others disintegrate and start doing the bar / Tinder thing. I’ve even known a couple men who came to Taiwan as a missionary, and after 15-20 years of the grind, they got a divorce and became a player. But most men don’t last that long. Most expats eventually pull up stakes and return to their home country with their d!cks between their legs after a few months or a few years.
As mentioned, I moved to Taiwan in 2004, so I’ve had a long time to establish myself here. And I came here at a time that was favorable to foreigners. Even with many things in my favor, it was hard. Given how much the world has changed since then, I think it would be extremely difficult if not impossible for a guy to do right now what I did 20 years ago.
Final Warnings
Anytime the news of something good hits the internet and goes mainstream, the best opportunities for investment are already long gone. So if you see a YouTube video that says Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, or wherever is F-ing fantastic, then rest assured, that culture is no longer fresh, the women have already been picked through, and there are already so many thirsty Westerners infesting that culture that they’re no longer welcomed by the locals (which is an important part of establishing rapport with her family). In fact, there’s been reports of Passport dudes being set up and bumped off by locals in Columbia (seriously!) — almost certainly orchestrated by men who are protecting their own family members and/or the local SMP. We are fast approaching the end of the age in which Westerners are glorified, honored, and respected around the world.
I’d urge guys NOT to follow the pronouncements of the Passport Bro mouthpieces on YouTube or elsewhere who are presently giving directives on where to find the last remaining poon paradisios in this ever shrinking and increasingly corrupted world. Instead, you’ll have to do your own homework and find out where you might get the most bang for the buck. Excuse me, ahem… the best environment to secure a god and husband fearing wife.
