What is the metaphysical nature of it?

Intro

Over the past couple of years or so, there has been a sharp increase in the focus on metaphysical phenomenon. 

A lot of these content producers are women, not surprisingly.  The only women who are NOT solipsistic, and who therefore have something interesting to add to the cultural discussion, are those who have developed an awareness of the metaphysical.  But this is no coincidence.  Solipsism is the default state when metaphysical awareness is absent.

Most of the time, this appears as something rather dark and manipulative, like W!tchcr@ft. Here, we see people have discovered the power of the human mind, of faith, and mysticism without really understanding what is going on or how it works.

We see a lot of abstract descriptive language with words like ‘chakras’, ‘consciousness’, ‘frequency’, ‘manifestation’, personal ‘energy’ levels, ‘radiate’, ‘resonance’, ‘wavelength’, ‘vibration’, etc.

A lot of physics terms for those who know nothing about physics.  Probably because physics provides the most suitable nomenclature for describing the metaphysical.

There is an assumed analogy of a person being like a radio transmitter.  Actually, this is true.  The human heart generates a faint electromagnetic signal that can be detected with instrumentation up to about 3 meters away on average.  Some individuals radiate fields up to 50 meters away.

But as Info and RonTomlinson2 observed, respectively, these words are like the 2D outline of a 3D object, and the idea can’t be put into words.  Furthermore, most of them are fumbling in the dark, grasping for words to describe that which cannot be verbalized.

Most of these content producers cum grand gurus are focused on how to use this phenomenon to alleviate suffering, attain wealth, control people, find love, get action or attention, and so on — in short, fulfilling fleshly desires.

I haven’t seen any perspectives that recognize it as an expression of faith or the power of God behind it.

There is good reason to doubt all this as being ‘real’, but for those who still have doubts as to whether Manifestation is really authentic, here I’ll offer a few examples of Metaphysical sensations and responses that most readers should be able to identify with.

Case Study 1 — The Weight of One’s Gaze

Did you ever get a surreal feeling when someone was staring at you from across the room?  You can feel the weight of their gaze, even though you may not be fully aware of what it is.  You have this sudden impulse to jerk your head around to look in their direction, often without being consciously aware of it, and then you find someone is there staring at you.

Case Study 2 — The Impact of Attention

Did you ever have an experience in which someone calls your name to get your attention, and you automatically know at that moment — before they say anything — whether it will be either an uplifting or a discouraging interaction?

Did you ever wonder why women light up (or shut down cold) when you give them the least bit of sincere, undivided attention?  Aside from the fact that they crave it as a form of sociosexual Affirmation, what exactly is communicated through that attention that they are craving?  By granting her attention, it’s like you’re transmitting ‘energy’ from yourself directly into her.  Literally. It’s draining. Too much will turn you into a Simp.

Case Study 3 — In the Classroom

As a teacher, I’ve recognized metaphysical phenomenon in the classroom.

I’ve noticed that when certain people step into the classroom, the entire atmosphere of the room changes in some way.  The mood of people in the room changes.  Likewise, when certain people leave the room, the social / metaphysical environment is altered.

When I ask one question, students are enthusiastic.  When I ask a different question, students disengage.  Of course, which way the question turns usually involves what is required of them, but even so, they can sense this eventuality from the question itself — sometimes moments before I ask it.  I can sense this too.

Case Study 4 — On the Job

When I first joined the workforce at the age of 18, I took a job as a die maker’s apprentice.  Work started at 6:00 in the morning, and ended at 3:30 p.m.

I was unaccustomed to waking up so early, and I expressed this concern to the boss.

He told me something that has stood out in my memory ever since.

He said, “Be sure to go to bed before 9:30 p.m.  When you go to bed at night, tell yourself, “I will wake up at 4:30”, and then hit your pillow three times.”

I did it, and I was amazed that I woke up at 4:29 a.m., just seconds before my alarm went off.

That’s the power of the human mind! Although few, if anyone, are aware of this power, much less use it for anything worthwhile.

Conclusions

Of course, Manifestation is true.  It really “works”.

  • Realistically imagining how things will go and how things will turn out is often the deciding factor in how it actually plays out.
  • The mindset you have going into an enterprise pretty much determines the overall impact and success of the result.

But how?

As illustrated through these case studies, there must be some sort of inherent mechanism of self-determination in what shall unfold.  There must be some kind of metaphysical ‘radiation’ that the human heart can instinctively detect — one that ¡$c!əNcε! has not yet been able to explain. 

That’s the power of the subconscious mind.

In many ways, it’s also the power of faith, and of prayer as well.  However, the Christian faith concedes that there is a Higher Power at work.  Otherwise, prayer would be ineffective.  Think about that for a moment.
