I only tried OLD briefly starting about 2 years ago. This one guy and I were messaging each other and I asked him if he was a conservative, because I wouldn't waste my time if he was. He had his own landscaping business and seemed confused about the question and said something non-commital like "I don't like any politicians." I figured he was just uneducated but didn't want to be judgemental about that so I let it pass.

So I drove to meet him at a restaurant and he's there in the parking lot, on the sidewalk when I get there. He waves me over and we began to talk. Then about 2 minutes in, he looks at his phone and says, "oh my son is having car trouble, I might need to go pick him up, let's just wait and not go in yet." So we keep talking and, you guessed it, his son needs help! He apologizes profusely and says we'll do it again soon. On the drive home I suddenly realize I've been had! So when I get home I text him, "The next time a woman asks if you're conservative, the answer is YES. WTF is wrong with you?"

Don't know how many men have tried this tactic to avoid paying for dinner with a woman they figure out won't be a pickmeisha. Is that from a PUA playbook or something?
