I realized recently that a number of men, mostly LVMs and not necessarily people I was dating, were often saying this to me in my twenties, about their own marriages; things akin to: "oh it was so great and then we got married and it all went to shit etc.". Has anyone else heard this ad nauseam?

Thinking back, and piecing together vague anecdotes they gave, (the main one I remember was about arguments about dishwashing), I'm going to guess that they just weren't putting any effort into domestic chores and maintaining the relationship..
