Yep.. dated several of them. One would tell me how he cried working on this documentary about orphans etc. And then he mistreated me like crazy. It took me over a year to see it for what it was and understand that what he said didn’t match what he did.

It’s really hard to communicate to women who like a man, that he is actually abusive or dangerous if he has a “nice” exterior.

It’s a mask. They think you must have done something to activate his abusive side, because he is so nice. When he’s mad, it must be for a reason, and you deserve the abuse. People generally don’t like believing someone who they admire is a monster, and would rather see you as the problem...

Has anyone noticed that some “nice”/sensitive/artistic/intellectual guys That are admired by women have this storm cloud over them, like a shadow behind them of their darker self that many don’t see? Inside, many of them are pissed and bitter people, throw tantrums, or have rigid views etc. The sweetness is a mirage.

I was told for a long time that I had “low empathy” by a partner who turned out to be insanely abusive.

I'm almost finished reading it now and it's absolutely unreal, what an eye opener. Sometimes I need to take a break and calm down I start feeling hot, so many emotions. Such a crucial read, and so helpful for every woman.

My soon-to-be-ex-husband was mostly Mr Demanding... but now he’s “changed” through his “enlightenment”, so having read that book I know that he would simply have morphed from Mr Demanding to Mr Sensitive. Great.
