Those of you that are married and planning your escape like I am, or those that WERE married, I am curious about something. Did/do you notice that the female in/that was in our life only wants/wanted an animal for what it can provide her (just like with human men)? In my case she has a 3 year-old, male, black and white Tuxedo feline. He is a real cuddler and is her "ESA." He will sit with her and things, but not for very long. Fifteen mikes tops. However, he will spend an hour, or more, sitting with me/my son. It is like he knows she has him for a purpose and only sits with her long enough to fulfill that purpose. Same with my daughter. Whereas with me and my son, he sits with us just to "hang out" like one of the guys and actually prefers us to them. My Budgie is the same way. It hates her and my daughter, but really likes me and my son. My second question: Do/did you find this to be true of animals in your lives/ get the idea that even the animals know/knew that AWALT and prefer to spend the most time with the person(s) that genuinely care for them for them and not what they can provide? I am curious and starting to form some thoughts and theories regarding this; and would like to see what you guys think/let you guys weigh in. The weird thing is that my bird and the cat seem to get along well and I wonder/worry if I will end up having the cat pushed on me when I am finally free and on my own because she won't want to deal with him.
