Hey you cunts, Happy New Year to you all. Personally, I'm celebrating the death of 2017; some bad shit happened, but I intend to press on and overcome.
So, this post is bit tangential. I was previously married and had a shitty divorce, which ultimately led me here. My married life was full of material things, and I mean that in a BIG WAY. Embracing a life of middle-class indulgence was stressful because of cost and clutter. In the years since my divorce, I've purged 90% of my material possessions. Dropping off huge loads at GoodWill felt liberating. I live in a small space now. I'm sure some of my peers live in big houses with lots of STUFF, and if I gave a shit, and looked on Facebook, I'm sure I could see it. But I stopped caring a long time ago.
Anyway, I had this idea tonight that clutter is mostly a female problem. I was watching old home movies from when I was married, and I couldn't believe the clutter in the house my ex-wife accumulated. Just piles of things everywhere, some new and unopened. And Fuck Knows where the Hell any of that shit ever ended up. Donated or trashed, probably. Did it bring me happiness? Hell no. I don't miss materialism, consumption, abundance, or clutter one damn bit.
I think about what some married men have to deal with. Big houses full of clutter and shit their wife brings home. Fuck, thank God it's not me anymore. Some videos to add to my sentiment:

EDIT: I remember the clutter in my house contained -- and I am not making this up -- self-help books my ex-wife bought (and never read) on dealing with clutter and disorganization.
