It's amazing, and more than a little disturbing to me that our society has apparently abandoned presumption of innocence until proven guilty.

6th Amendment US Bill of Rights

This Amendment is present in all trials or court cases in America. The 6th Amendment in the American Constitution guarantees an individual the right to a fair, speedy, and public trial. The 6th Amendment also enables an individual to have legal assistance, regardless of the charge, and the right to confront adverse witnesses and notice of accusations. These rights are given to all men or women under trial for any sort of wrongdoing. They establish the “innocent until proven guilty” mantra that is present in the United States legal system.

Since a presumption of innocence is still present in the criminal court system, our society has shifted strategies and now uses the court of public opinion to punish the accused. Our society has already abandoned presumption of innocence in the family courts with this "err on the side of caution" nonsense because "won't somebody think of the children."

I have suffered this abuse personally in family court. After the ex beat the shit out of me (because I didn't lift a finger to stop her), she asked for an order of protection which the court granted without a single shred of evidence. Even worse, there was evidence... of me getting assaulted. I filed a police report, and have photographs of the injuries she inflicted on me.

Didn't matter one fucking bit.

But wait, there's more.

This protective order was not criminal and was never violated, so even after it's expiration it's a public record anyone can access. I lost my job last May and have been looking for work since then. I'm a 30 year IT professional with a very impressive resume, so after a dozen successful interviews went nowhere, I finally discovered why these companies were ghosting me. HR runs a background check and guess what? That fucking PO shows up and bang... done.

So at this point dear reader you're thinking, "Fuck man... destroyed this guy's entire career based on nothing."

And you ain't wrong... but wait... there's fucking more.

My unemployment benefits ran out almost a month ago. The government was seizing half of that to pay my child support. I have finally run out of savings so my car is gone and I'll soon enough be evicted from my home. At that point I'll be waiting to be jailed for failing to pay child support.

All of this based on a lie and the court's unconstitutional presumption of my guilt.

Elected Senators are being deposed... men's entire life work being destroyed... because of accusations unsupported by evidence.

Know what happens when you strip a man of his children and destroy decades of his hard work and sacrifice without justification?

Violence happens.

For myself, and other men chewed up by this system it's a tragedy. Put enough of these male victims together, and eventually we will reach a critical mass. Ever watch a pot of water boiling? Takes forever... nothing much going on as it slowly heats up, when all of a sudden... poof... it's boiling.

It's 1 minute to midnight gentlemen... prepare yourselves accordingly.
