Never do interviews about MGTOW. Not to mainstream media, not to alternative media. They don't have your best interests at heart, and journalism is not about finding the truth, it's about getting views. Ignore it, and do what this sub is about: Go your own way.

This bothers me for a reason:

So I spent the better part of a decade studying at a UK top 20 university, and doing politics, of all subjects. That meant studying a range of topics: law, policy, social policy, sociology, psychology, philosophy, media, and the waste of space that is feminism, it was required. If I learnt anything from all those hours in the library, it's this: media is the enemy of man.

Mainstream media is absolutely dominated by social progressive thinkers. This is especially true in the state run BBC, but also true in any left-leaning media outlet in all anglosphere nations. These people are not your friends. Even centre leaning and right leaning media outlets will throw you just enough rope to hang yourself. And the answer to why this is the case should be obvious. The majority viewers of these programs are women, and this is especially true during daytime TV. They will cater to their majority viewers, and women don't want to see a movement about men focusing on themselves and the betterment of each other. They want to see their world-view reinforced, they want it to be confirmed that men are angry villains that are trying to keep them down, and that they are valiant maidens that are overcoming an enemy and proving they are superior. This is about ratings and profit margins, not brotherhood or decency.

As friendly as they may seem at the time, they will frame the conversation so that any answer given will be from a defensive position, and from a viewers perspective the person on the defensive is in the wrong as he is having to defend himself. Once you add in the power of editing, and voice-overs, and once you consider what they will show before and after this segment, you will be left looking like the bad party.

That is exactly what has happened here. Listen to word-associations:

"Consider yourself warned, these men don't hold back."

"Suspicious of newcomers."

"That hurts you bad, that translates into anger"

"That anger spills out into comments, posts, and videos"

"Declared enemy"

"Declared war against women"

"Where his outrage comes from"

"John has coped with his pain the MGTOW way, decrying all women to get back at the one who hurt him."

"This reaction, to blame an entire gender feels misplaced to me."

The purpose of this is word association: Mgtow no longer means men focusing on themselves to the general populace. They are creating a word association with Mgtow and anger/pain/enemy/war/rage, all negative emotions. And from these emotions they are creating a logical conclusion: negative emotions lead to violent reaction / childlike reactions. They will reframe anything said using phrases such as:

"So you believe that..."

"To me feminism has meant..."

"I don't think its down with men, I think its..."

It belittles what MGTOW is, and creates the perception that instead of going our own way, mgtows sit around viciously bully women online. This is where the MGTOW =//= INCEL conflation comes from.

There is no "Big John destroys..." moment to be had in these interviews, and even if there were it would be edited out to secure the narrative that the piece is designed to present. The only person that has come close to winning in a situation like this was Jordan Peterson, but he has had decades practical application of clinical psychology and psychological therapy for self reflection as required by his profession for greater emotional control, the topic was more socially acceptable, and even then if the format of that debate was different it would not have turned out the way it did. That mistake isn't going to be made again.

I've been a lurker since this sub was mid 40k - 50k, and had a few throw-away accounts to pop in and give advice to guys suffering from redpill rage or when I could offer help for the self-improvement. But this sub is changing from being about going our own way, and is getting dangerously close to being about bashing women. If you're still in the rage stage, power to you. But once you've calmed down, focus on yourself, not women. MGTOW isn't like feminism, this isn't a movement, it's not about changing society or proving anyone else is wrong or that you are right. It's a philosophy on how to live your life in a meaningful way. If you want to bash women or change society, go join the mens rights subs. If you want to obsess over women, go join the red pill sub. If you want to debate about women, pretend to be a second wave feminist and go join a feminist sub. If you want to go your own way, put your money where your mouth is.

Just remember; No Russian interviews!
