Large government intervention and rules used to be called the “nanny state”. This was a popular term in England to describe the government from the 60s +... we should now call it the “daddy state”. This is because the state now subsidies families with welfare and child benefits etc and now the state is taking the role of fathers. Instead of a boy being influence by his dad, he is now influenced by the teachers, police etc which is funded by the government. A lot of failures in the west could be pointed to the rise of the “daddy state”. Rant over
