Civilizations do fall. I also suspect that under the Roman Empire there were doomsday prophets and naysayers who predicted the end of the world, now we look back at something archaic, perhaps barbaric and low tech.

Life not only continued but it improved.

I believe it will be the same one day regarding us and this Capitalistic model we live by, let's call it the Capitalistic Empire.

Future generations might look back with fascination, curiosity, and awe but through the lens of a better and more evolved way to live.

My point is we shouldn't look at these failures as totally catastrophic. They might be just natural and vital parts of the human story.

Make no mistake or delude yourself the current way of life is unsustainable. Sooner or later something has to change and the changes required to break away from this system (due to human natural stupidity and last-minute thinking) are going to be rough indeed.

I agree that there will not be a societal collapse. However looking at the media, commercials , TV shows I see a slight shift in backing off the man hating agenda. I see commercials where the father figure is a real dad, not the dork dads of 2010-2017 while Hollywood is still spewing out junk sitcoms which are critical of men, I have seen some female comedians such as Whitney Cummings telling women that they have gone to far.

I almost fell out of my chair watching the opening NFL game between Greenbay and the Chicago Bears. A white man in his 50's sang the national anthem! I am not trying to knock other races just saying it is rare to see that.

Dave Chappelle's new Netflix special was great and he was not afraid to say it like it is.

I think a good majority of men 30% are telling society to fuck off and that is enough to start making people worry. We have college age kids and I can't count how many of their friends have gone through a full four years of college with out a boy friend.

I am not MGTOW, I have been married for 27 years and my wife is now anti-feminist.

In North America at least we have a mating system set up that makes it impossible for most men to succeed. Add to that an economic system that rewards fewer and fewer people and widens the gap between the rich and poor. You get less and less reward for working hard while the super rich get the Lion's share of all the booty (both riches and literal booty). If this system doesn't cause a total collapse, it will at the very least cause severe dysfunction. These mass shootings that keep happening are the symptoms of discontent. Keep telling men, "You don't get a piece of the pie; you don't get to be respected or even touched by a woman" and see what happens. They'll try to stop these mass assaults by placing limitations on firearms (magazine capacity limits, ammo limits, etc.), and the discontent will instead make pipe bombs and Molotov cocktails. Create a system that treats most men like crap and bad things will happen, regardless of whether a total collapse happens.

People have been saying "society is going to collapse" for over 1,000 years. We're still here. Scholars since the dark ages have equated pretty much every disaster (either natural or man-made) with the collapse of society or "God" punishing humans for their sin. We're still waiting for them to be right just once.

Society won't collapse until humans become extinct. It's as simple as that. Until that happens (and eventually it will... in a few million years or so), society will continue to be here. Society doesn't collapse, it simply evolves and changes. Sure, there will be some who will suffer from those changes, just like evolution on Earth has led to the extinction of some species over the course of time. What's happening in Society today is neither unprecedented nor unexpected by anyone with an eye on the future.

I think the reason there is a lot of talk on MGTOW forums about "Societal Collapse" is that MGTOW has been infiltrated by a lot of angry incels. Guys who think that they are somehow "owed" sex or affection from women. When they don't get what they think they are "owed", they join MGTOW groups because they see MGTOW as something "edgy" or aggressive. For these guys, "Societal Collapse" just means they aren't getting laid.

There was a lot of that in the last topic I started here, when I asked why there are so many upset and/or angry men in MGTOW who want to turn the whole thing into a giant pity party. Some of the responses I got made me think that a lot of these men aren't actually going their own way, but merely being sent on their way. Those guys probably see "societal collapse" as something very real - because they had certain expectations of society springing from a sense of entitlement, and now they aren't getting what they want.

We have to define “societal collapse.” Mesopotamia experienced this 3,000 years ago. It was defined by military defeat, drought, and starvation. For 300 years after that, nobody made pottery, wrote any papyrus scrolls, or built anything. Even their languages disappeared. That certainly wont happen to the US. But will some things worsen? Lets break it down:

Economics - we just discovered enough shale oil to ensure energy independence for the next 200 years or more. We now produce our own petroleum, and have become the number one petroleum exporter in the world since the 1970s. So you’ll see the US removing troops from the middle east. We’ve been protecting the entire world’s oil tanker deliveries for the last 70 years with our navy based on the Bretton Lake agreement, for a discount on oil. That is ending. Which means China and Japan will be fighting over Persian gulf oil. Saudi Arabia and Iran hate eachother for religious disagreements and jealousy. So since we’re not sending them pallets of cash to avoid a war, they will probably have a war. This always causes drastic increase in oil prices. It wont bother the US. Vietnam hate the Chinese. So imagine oil tankers sneaking into china past vietnam. We might see quite a rise in Piracy. Russia wants their old eastern block countries back. We’ve been delaying this with NATO, another form of free military protection for Europe. All of these countries will/are begging us to continue the free assistance. Since we dont need any of their oil, we wont, unless they bend over on trade deals and tariffs which give us tens of billions in yearly profit. We’re seeing that happen now. US will have the best trade deals. The international supply chains will crumble as transport becomes unsafe, and factories will return to the US or the Americas. The rest of the world will return to their pre WWII nationalist ways without the US babysitting them. (Read The Absent Superpower for more). In the meantime...

Military - we have the largest navy in the world. We have some of the most advanced jets. We have the most robust missile guidance and drone system, (Obama dropped 100,000 bombs in this manner... after winning the nobel peace prize). AND ... apparently we’re putting missiles in space with Space Force. So we will certainly not face military defeat. Unless you consider immigration an invasion...

Culture - this has already collapsed. Remember, Karl Marx sought to destroy all religion, culture and identity, to create total worship of the government. We can see leftists and democrats chipping away at this. Even modern christians cant resist promiscuity, drug addiction, divorce, single motherhood, radical feminism, etc. 45% of american households are now single mother homes. Divorce rate is 52%. 300,000 drug overdoses per year. Average IQ has dropped by about 5 points in the last 50 years. 25% of Mexico’s population has emigrated to the US and with all do respect to Latinos, ive spent years in Latin america, they LOVE communism. Theyre raised to believe the government will print money and solve everyones problems with free programs, and when the money runs out, they blame capitalists for stealing it. Unfortunately socialist/communist principles, like welfare, in any country incentivize the lowest IQ citizens to have the most children. Even Roman scholars noticed this 1500 years ago. Research shows criminals have higher birth rates than law abiding citizens after the implementation of the welfare state. This will lead to extreme disparity in intelligence, which is the precursor to wealth disparity ( read The Bell Curve by Dr Charles Murray for more)

So will the US collapse? Militarily, no. Economically, no, but unless you are lucky, the demographic change has ensured we’ll be an enormous welfare state with dangerous sprawling urban areas like Brazil. The culture itself has already collapsed.

I dont think a "collapse" is coming but big changes are headed our way.

We are past the point of no return for carbon/methane emissions and the resulting climate change, ice/tundra melts, coastal flooding and huge population displacement. Its becoming obvious that this is accelerating so by the end of this century we're fucked.

The US dollar as a fiat currency is pretty much doomed. The growth of the national debt is exponential and will not stop. 22 trillion today. Once it hits mid 30 trillion its all over. That is probably only 10-15 years from now. What will replace it? China?

Automation will continue to increase and eliminate good middle class jobs. We are at historically low unemployment but the bigger picture is what are all these service jobs. Mostly lower paying and the middle class gets hit, income/wealth inequality grows and a new "gilded age" comes back. Perhaps the great middle class post WW2 was just an aberration and we are returning to the historical norm?

The USA will not remain the superpower. Will totalitarian capitalism like China take over? sure hope not.

If one were to compare today's society to society in the seventies, one would see how profoundly different damn near everything is.

Labour hire companies were damn near unheard of.

Immigration was at a much, much lower level.

Technological reliance was much more minimal back then, as well.

Society has collapsed; like a man who has been nicked and cut a thousand times, they can still stumble along, and to the dim witted, naive observer, still appear to be fine.

But they're dying.

Yeah, I'm not worried about western countries collapsing from within. We will undermine our own foundations, surely, but final death will be largely influenced from outside forces.

Will it happen within my lifetime? Dunno. What I do know is that we are very near peak decadence. Enjoy the decline, men. It won't last forever.

If it happens it won't be for a very very long time. We'll all be in the ground by the time it happens. It's like you said there is just too many simps and blue billers still around. The only place I can talk about red pill truth is on this subreddit and the original MGTOW subreddit as well (there are other forums I know but these are the ones I prefer for the most part). I don't know anyone in my life that is red pill. 4 guys at my work just got married, another one of them is engaged, a friend of mine is getting married at the end of the month and not to mention how I still see everyone on the internet outside of this subreddit and the other MGTOW one still chasing women. Are more men becoming aware? They sure are but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll go MGTOW. Some people just aren't meant for solitude and some people can't handle the red pill truths we speak of.

The west may not "collapse" as in ruins, meaning that the western emisphere will become Africa, but it will eventually go down, just take a look at Venezuela, before 2000, third richest country in the American continent, just after USA and Canada, today? one of the poorest nations, this is what may happen to the US, just take a look at California with its homeless crisis, now imagine this going in the whole society with the importation of Africans and Muslims, it already happened in London and Paris, this is what we mean with "collapse", a kind of anarcho society, I'm a firm believer that this will happen in the whole world if we still push this leftist agenda.

Didn't europe have this Baba Vanga old lady who predicted that in 2040 Europe would be a complete Muslim wasteland?, just take a look at the state of Paris subway, take a look at the German no-go zones, take a look at Sweden, I personally witnessed the collapse of Venezuela (I'm still living in here) and while we may not be Africa in terms of structures, you know we certainly had a societal collapse, you cannot trust anybody because others will seek any opportunity to steal from you, you rob you, this used to be a "rule of the law" country, nowadays everyone has illegal weapons at home and when a thief or criminal is caught there is no "Let's call the cops on him, please dial 911!", people just gather around and often lynch and burn criminals alive, people enjoy the chaos, there's an island state in Venezuela called Nueva Esparta, which is pretty much a Iran 2.0, muslims have invaded and many of them use the venezuelan population to deal with drugs, form pedophile rings, but of course, if you go around the streets, everything seems to be "normal", but society as a whole is deteriorated.

Take a look at Spain, native Spanish men are being imprisoned for "hate" crimes, for not being politically correct, courts imprisoning men simply because a woman denounced them, no matter if the man is innocent or not, they don't care to investigate, they just take the guy to prison, in order "TO PREVENT" bad things from "happening", but in the mean time these feminist whores in the Spanish parliament and the Spanish government let thousands of savage Africans go through the Moroccan borders, but of course, if you are speaking about "societal collapse" in terms that electricity will eventually go out, oh boy! IT WILL EVENTUALLY GO DOWN, and when rulers of nations get asked why the electrical grid are failing, they'll just say it's a sabotage from external enemies, and Americans... let me tell you something, if the radical wing of the Democrat party wins in the US and you just stay idly while they start flipping things upside down this is what you'll have, the world really has no idea the demon that Karl Marx released through the so-called "Communist Manifiesto" and "Das Kapital".

And I mentioned muslims in this long post, many people may wonder, what does it have to do with socialism and society collapsing? Well... imagine a theocracy that strips you from your human rights just because you are not a Muslim and even if you are you can still be killed for "doing it in the wrong way", not add to this theocracy a very common arabic mindset called "Pan-Arabism", which is something like an ideology where a "Good benevolent muslim" takes care of the economy and often the state intervenes many things for being "Haram" or doing "Haram" stuff, so socialism 2.0.

There you go, and sadly this is the path we're following, start to notice the patterns study current events, current cities, past events and how past cities have changed from beautiful places to shitty places, take a look at the US with its war on drugs problem, the 99% of the US population does weed, or at least have tried it once, a drug addicted society will not function properly, the Chineses were hooked on opium before, and I have to be honest, those evil fuckers managed to break that cycle, and you can say they took advantage of the US or whatever, but the fuckers became the second most important country in the planet

Societal collapse won't be obvious until long after it occurs, unless there is a major war that brings it on. Things will slowly decay and change. Power blackouts will start to occur, water shortages, gradual crop changes, and society will slowly change in order to adjust. Governments will become more restrictive and less responsive.

We might be in the middle of a societal collapse right now. Historians in 200 years time might see the period from the end of the 20th Century as the starting point. The only question would be where to see it started.

On the other hand, we might be at the start of a wonderful upswing in science, technology and politics that leads to a golden age unprecedented in history! It could go either way.

I was a young adult in the early 1980s. Rumours of a limited war in Europe between NATO and the Soviet Union were persistent and frightening. I was very pessimistic about the future. Then, starting in 1989, the Berlin Wall was torn down, the Soviet Union fell, Russia and the USA became friends of a sort, it seemed like China would go democratic, and the future seemed wonderful! This lasted about a decade. Then 9-11 happened.

So now I encourage young people to not worry about it. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst is the best advice I can give. You just don't know. Life is what happens while you are making other plans.

Yeah, I think societal collapse is a bit too strong of a term. There might be an economic re-ordering that causes pain in a lot of sectors, but we're not going back to the 1800's.
