Your an irresponsible parent if you cannot afford to raise your children on your own.

If you cannot raise your child without receiving child support then you are failing in your fundamental responsibilities as a parent to ensure their security and wellbeing, as what are you going to do if that monthly check stops coming in? What if the non-custodial parent suddenly dies? and you can't afford to feed your kids? If I was a separated parent with custody of the kids, I would waive my right to receiving money from the non-custodial parent as they are better off using that money on the kids in their own time. It would be irresponsible and frankly unfair of me to leach of my ex as we have separated and that should mean independence from each other. And if the kids have two homes, one with mom and one with dad then I would want the other parents home to maintain a good lifestyle, whereas if I am taking up to half of their income then that takes away from the kids lifestyle at that home both financially and time wise as it would force the other patent to work more than they need to meaning less time for the kids. Sucking the other parent dry of their income causes a major unbalance and inequality which ultimately effects the kids. But mostly my opinion falls on my own responsibility to be able to raise my kids without having to rely on anyone other than myself. I was taught to never rely on anyone because that opens up the possibility of being let down and losing out and a responsible parent would not take that risk on the children. What do you think?
