I am 25 years old. Dual citizen of USA and latin american country. grew up in USA. I am white guy, slender to average. 180 lbs. I am trained as an engineer at a top 10 college in USA. After a couple years working in my field i got laid off through no fault of my own. My girlfriend left me and I wanted to get away from my old life to start over. So I decided to go back to school. Applied to medical schools and got in someplace cool. I am in my second year of medical school in a caribbean country. got rejected from harvard. Its less prestigious but still a legitimate path to get a good job in USA after graduation (doctor MD). I have a partial scholarship from my college frat (10%) but mostly financing medical school with federal student loans. which are pretty high rates now like 6.5%. graduated college with no debt and always kept consumer debt to a healthy zero. i just dont know how you can do medical school without debt if youre young and arent rich. good news is i dont pay rent since I live on my sailing yacht which I paid for in cash that I made as an engineer. I have mediocre grades in medical school (just started year 2) which I am trying to improve. But I feel very distracted by everything that is going on in my life. got too many girlfriends, too many interests, too much student loan debt, a lot of noise in my life. honestly i just want to have a simple life someplace quiet and keep my boat. I frequently have dreams of starting an old folks home. Being a geriatric doctor. I dislike kids and am considering a vasectomy. I discovered TRP a year ago and its helped me a lot to get where I am now. I am also in alcoholics anonymous and ive been sober for a year. TRP and AA have helped me to keep my eye on the ball (at least somewhat). This is my first post but anyway maybe there are others like me.
