I just want to share my journey so far, which involves a lot of forgiving myself for some of the things I did that were LV for the sake of what I thought was honest effort in my relationships (friendships, work relationships, etc. all of those).

I recently stopped talking to a LVM where I saw SO many red flags. But I kept making excuses and reasons just for the sake of having someone “cool” in my life. I’m working a lot on moving on, but something that always brings me back to pain/sadness is that I remember what I did, and how I was responsible for allowing ppl with LV into my life.

For anyone also on this path, I just want to say, it’s okay. The world isn’t always kind, and it’s okay to have given yourself to something you thought was valuable. What matters most is that you are now aware that it wasn’t true to yourself. And what matters is that you learn from it for all your future interactions. That’s it. Allow yourself to forgive yourself. Show yourself the compassion you know you deserve.
