I'm 5'5(165cm) and about 150 lbs. I just got done reading Convict Conditioning. Learned a lot from it, going to read it again and do the exercises but.. I'm not sure about them. The progression steps look promising. I went over to the bodyweight fitness sub, did a search. They don't recommend doing the program Paul's way but adjusting it. Went to the dragon door forum as well and the followers of the program are split into those who follow it religiously and those who make a few adjustments.
My concern is, I've read that a guy followed it to the T and plateaued after 2.5 years. This is a little scary to me. I don't want to waste any time and be as efficient as I can. On the same exercises as well. The bodyweight fitness sub has a recommended routine, which I'm also willing to try. I'm lost right now.
What about gym and lifting? Gym memberships cost a lot where I live. $42USD per month. Working for $2.14USD per hour at the moment. I'm leaning towards calisthenics route to save some cash. Food is also expensive here, eating healthy costs more. That's where most of my cash would be going.
What are my goals? I'd like to get stronger and a toned body. I want a higher tolerance towards pain. I need to be able to get out of almost any situation on foot. Climb over a wall, jump between roofs, etc. The crime situation here(3rd world island) is getting worse. I've got to get better before it catches up to me and I become another statistic.
I work late shifts (2pm-10pm), I need to smoke a dose of indica (0.5g) to fall asleep. If not, I won't be able to sleep until 3am and when I do wake up it'll be like 12 noon. Which leaves little to no time to get shit done. Usually I wake up around 9 am after falling asleep around 12 midnight. My dad and brother wake up 4:30 am. They're loud(it's only the 3 of us here in a small apartment) and it interrupts my sleep. Working on a fix for this.
I've got a lot on my plate right now. If I want to have anything in this life I've got to finish my dinner before having dessert. I'm aware that I have a lot more hardships coming my way. I just want to be prepared for them. I've got a long way to go. I need to endure the struggle ahead and come out in top.
What are your experiences with CC and r/BWF's RR? I can manage 10 push ups using handles, 20 hanging pull ups (gotta jump to reach the bar). I'll keep doing more research. Thanks for reading.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
