Hi, i'm new on this community, but i've already read many posts and opened up my eyes since then. I wonder if you can help me with this controversial point.
Many on this sub agree on the fact that niceness doesn't pay, and what truly triggers female's attraction is a dominant attitude (as long as genuine, not pretentious), grounded masculine energy, not putting women on a pedestal... along with all those healthy qualities like self-improvement, lifting, eating well and style. Moreover it seems like here devout courtship, loving and caring attitude are seen like the first step to true damnation: friendzone, indifference, contempt, exploitation as an emotional tampon. That makes sense to me, BUT:
I've lived most of my life in a bluepilled mentality. Saw women as whole as a kind gender per se, and recognized here and there "bad women", never realizing AWALT, the hidden feminine imperative, or the biological laws that shaped them into manipulative and opportunistic beings.
Now...i'm 25, I've been mostly in LTR and had some adventures, one night stands etc, but every single time I approached with a nice-guy, courting, even romantic mentality. Most of the time i've been cautious, shy, outcome dependent even if unwilling to show. Of course lots of times my goal was just getting laid. Surprisingly, it worked.
Lately i've come to face this reality, i'm still coping with that but i totally agree with most of the RP material, and my point of view changed. My relations with women accordingly. I began to be more aggressive, sexdriven, while i used to be so stiff around women in the past, convinced that sex was something not to mention early in the interaction, convinced that women, them all, were looking for a "loving, respectful man with almost no interest in sex if feelings and stuff weren't involved in the first place". I, too, was convinced that women were basically looking for a white knight.
As I was saying, I've done lots of online dating (on tinder-like apps), trying to implement the RP kind of mentality in my "game". You may ask yourself what my typical approach was like, if it was good or bad, calibrated or not, if i acted smart or just delusional, but as a matter of fact i've been more direct, shameless and honest about my sex goals, detecting and refusing their bs ("i'm not looking for sex, i'm not like the other girlz") more often. What i have to say: it didn't pay off. I tried not to end up in verbal fights, unfructuous quarrels, holding my frame and remain chill (and i rolled with it), but even that achieved, things eventually got spoiled most of the time, and i experienced significant losses in my results. Fundamentally, i cut with my old mentality and line of action, bluepilled af, embraced what i thought was right - and also useful to increase my results with women - but i ended up doing worse. I've got my opinion about this occurrency: i just have been doing it the wrong way. I've been a bluepill betaish guy most of my life (even if sort of handsome, lean, or skilled in my own stuff, things to which now i ascribe my humble but satisfying results with women), and now it just sounds ungenuine, untrue when i shift to this attitude towards chicks. They can feel it like sharks or T-Rexs or whatever. They don't buy it. And when they reject me, it feels like beta-shaming: "you can't act like this, this isn't you, you ain't the shit". What do you think?
TL; DR: being nice, romantic, invested really never pays off at all? How much you can get away with if you act the opposite way? ...depends?
