I hate writing long drawn out posts so I'll keep this one short and to the point. Basically, about 5 or 6 years ago I started setting goals for myself and was usually able to get to those goals, as I'm getting older the goals that I set for myself have become much more difficult and lately have started to notice a trend in my behavior and that is that I am never happy with what I've achieved. Objectively from an outsider looking in, I could say with a fair amount of confidence that what I have achieved so far is somewhat impressive. However when I look at what I've achieved I never feel like it was that big of a deal and am never happy or proud of my accomplishments. It goes something like this, "I want a 6 pack" 4 months later I've got a 6 pack and then I go onto the next thing "yea I've got a 6 pack now but look at how undeveloped my pecs are" and it's a continuous cycle of discontent. After a while of never feeling the high of accomplishment I get burned out and stop trying to accomplish anything and go into a state of sedentary behavior for a while until I feel like shit about myself and repeat the process. I wish someone could shed some light on this because I hate going back and forth between creating all of these awesome habits and eating healthy everyday and crushing my goals just to burn out after 6 months and lose everything.
