Hi,
I just got home after an hour of approaches and read this brilliant post on TRP that really resonated with some core topics that I've been thinking about as of late.
As I have been investigating the nature of reality through my meditation practice and dharma talks I have learned how suffering, resistance, and unskillful actions really come from a place of outcome dependence. Wanting things to be different from what they are in the moment. In short, it is much better to set goals not dependant on any outcome in order to achieve them. The key is to create goals about an action that you have complete control over. I have come to the conclusion that outcome-independent goals are excellent tools for entering a flow state for our daily life just as it is done on the meditation cushion as the jhanas. In this way, the specific action you are taking itself is executed at a higher level and is enjoyable for you.
From OPs post: "Consequences are the fruit of the tree, but the goal is to water the root."
I don't want to digress too much but I wanted to share the goals that I have come up with and ask how I might be able to fine-tune or improve them with respect to set myself up for the future.
Here is what I have so far:
1)Continue to lift and eat properly
2)Continue to meditate daily
3)Continuously follow up/network
4)Approach daily
5)Interview prep daily
I have broken these goals down into even smaller actionable steps and built a daily schedule around them.
My main concern is that I might be trying to focus on too many things? Is there anything you would substitute or add? My mission in life is to become the best version of myself or more specifically, to live mindfully.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
