These are two related stories where I was defined as needy:
Story 1: So I met this girl and we hit it off. I texted her and she said thank you but that she wasn't interested in dating. Me, being pragmatic, texted her back that I would be fine if we could be friends. I figured having a female friend would be useful to get me into parties and to meet more women. Plus she may just be a good friend.
She doesn't text me back. Later I hear from friends of friends that she found my style needy, especially asking if we could be friends.
Story 2: So I joined a pickup artist lair in my city. Excited to network and game, I reached out to hundreds of puas through Facebook. Most of them ignored my call, but many did respond. I went gaming with almost all that responded and had a generally good time.
Later I hear through the pipeline that I came off as being a little much and needy.
I don't get it. I am a sociable individual and eager to meet new people and expand my outreach. I want to be able to communicate with people without giving out a needy vibe.
What is it I can do to reform myself so I don't come off as needy?
