Hi everyone, I was talking to a girl for the last six days, until Thursday to be precise. We talked through a dating app; but we didn't get to have a date. She liked my profile first, and do I sid the same until we matched. I wasn't really sure whether to like her too, since her pictures and profile seemed like some kind of AI prototype or a well-made bot, to be honest. Anyway, I sent the first message, and she replied. While we were talking, I tried to stick to what her bio said, something like, "I'm into soft-hearted, kind, and a little old-fashioned. I'm more into deep conversations, emotional connection, and slow-burn romance. Looking for something real with someone gentle, thoughtful, and emotionally available” I didn't want to seem too desperate, intense, or romantic without getting to know each other well, especially since that's what her bio said.
I feel like at first, she seemed a bit more interested in me, especially since she suggested to move the conversation to Instagram, and of course, I don't use that platform. So I suggested to exchange phone numbers, and she took the initiative and gave me hers. I asked if she preferred to chat on WhatsApp or iMessage, and she said either way, with a smiley face “:)” She even added a heart to that message; it's little details and gestures that I notice and I appreciate. Anyway, we started talking on iMessage. In the following days, I felt like she was taking her time to reply; I also saw her online on the dating app. And well, there was only one time she replied to my previous message like this: “Hey Good Morning, I am well at work and you? Thank youu I hope your day is great as well.”
I asked her questions about her likes and interests, and she also asked me if I liked her interests, but she never asked me about mine. But I really did notice her interest in continuing the conversation and getting to know me better, but no reciprocity. We talked about deep topics, and I even recommended three books to her in return, with kind words from both of us.
Then, until Thursday, I was perhaps someone in her life. First, I sent her this message early in the morning, since I couldn't get to the previous one: "Good morning, how are you? I hope you slept well and that you have a great day." She was at work and replied an hour and a half later. We continued talking, although she took her time, but I understand because of the demands and responsibilities of her work and personal life. Hours later, she told me she had finished work and thanked me. This was my message: "You're welcome. Do you have anything planned for the rest of the day?" and this was hers: "I just came home, just cooked dinner, and now I'm going to watch a show, hbuu." And mine: "That sounds good. I'm at home relaxing too. What are you watching?" And that's where I ended up, in silence and uncertainty about what really happened, but everything indicates that she lost interest.
I don't plan to send her a message, whether it's through iMessage or the dating app. Not out of pride, but because it would put me in a vulnerable and fragile position. Besides, I'm not sure she would even reply or see it. Well, I guess just move on in life,
even though I came here looking for some explanation or clarification on this, regarding online experiences. It hurts, though, as a sensitive person who gets attached easily and who, when I connect, I do it for real.
